AdMob, Mobile Advertising Network has recently revealed a report on the smartphone devices metrics for April 2010. As per their closer look at the geographical distribution of smartphone devices, we can say, Android is still largely concentrated in North America while iPhone is going for global reach.
If we consider only unique Android devices, 75% of unique Android devices are located in North America while Asia stands the next with 12%. And Western Europe is not also far away. On the contrary, the iPhone has 49% of its unique devices in North America, 28% in Western Europe and 14% in Asia.
Android is taking off in the U.S while iPhone is growing faster in Europe and Asia than it is in North America. The statistics concludes that smartphone market is getting more saturated although tough competition has already entered the ring.
There are plenty of opportunities for multiple players for having the largest number of user base although the space is more crowded. But the good sign is that the user base is also getting larger day by day.
