Nielson has recently surveyed over 4,200 smartphone users who had downloaded mobile apps in the last one month. And their survey is showing that Facebook and Google Map are dominating the smartphone apps market. As per their report, we find that the most popular apps across all smartphones directly relating to Facebook, Google Map, Weather Channel, Pandora, Google Search, Video Apps, and Music Apps etc., although the usage and popularity of the specific applications are varying from operating system to operating system. If we leave open source Android Operating System, Facebook leads all smartphone platforms as the most popular used app while Facebook app stood second position on Android platform. If we compare all the smartphone platform, we find Facebook app is one the top five apps in all mobile platforms. And it is really interesting to see just how much Facebook app dominates the mobile app market.
