Google was supposed to announce the new version of Android Jelly bean on October 29, but the hurricane Sandy made it to cancel the event. However Google has announced it through a press release in place of the live event. The OS will soon be available under the slogan of “A new Flavor of Jelly Bean”. LG’s Nexus 4 and Samsung’s Nexus 10 will be the first devices to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The OS will be available from 13 November 2012.
Here are some exciting features of the new version of Android.
Photo Sphere Camera
It is truly an exciting feature. Now Android users can too generate a 360-degree panorama. All you need to do is let the camera go in all directions; from left to right, from down to up.
Keyboard with Gesture Typing
It is another interesting feature of Android 4.2. Just glide a finger over the letters and the new keyboard will type the word you want. Google claims that the new keyboard will have text to speech capabilities even without internet connection.
Multiple User Profiles (tablets only)
Yes it is true. Now Google-powered tablets will have multiple user profiles. This is a useful feature if a tab is used by more than one user. Now you need not to expose your Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and other accounts because you can enable multiple user profiles. Multiple user profiles will allow users to have separate home screens, widgets, apps and games. Switching between users is also easy.
Android 4.2 will come with Miracast feature. It is an advanced technology. It is a P2P wireless standards allowing Wi-Fi video streaming or mirroring of your device on a TV. However the TV needs to have this feature enabled.
Daydream is speculated like a screensaver running when the device is docked or ideal. It may show off your photo albums and get latest news, etc.
