Since the inception of Android Operating System, it has been making significant headway both in public and technology world. If we take a look at the sales scale of Android devices, it shows that Android is catching up to the iPhone.
Recently we found a report made by Nielson regarding the trend of utility and entertainment applications on all smartphone platforms. As per their report, Facebook apps are dominating the smartphone apps market.
But there are also multiple sources who noted that Facebook is not that popular on Android. . That judgment has been based on the stats for Facebook’s Android smartphone apps.
In search for the real story, we found that as a measure for the overall smartphone market, Android has well over seven million MAU on the social network while BlackBerry and iPhone have 18 and 35.6 million MAU respectively. Android appears to be at least a fifth the size of the iPhone.
Market analysts say, Android users tend to spend more time than any other smartphones group on Facebook. But with such a report and feedback from researchers and analysts, we would not throw any comment on the future of Android Facebook apps.
