Windows Phone had been struggling with shortage of those apps that are easily available for iOS and Android Phones. Users always blame the companies for not releasing the versions of such smartphone apps for Windows Phone OS; however, LinkedIn, the major social networking site for professionals, has cleared itself from this blame by releasing its smartphone app for the Windows Phone platform. LinkedIn’s Android and iOS apps have been around us for a long time but Windows Phone users were missing it.
LinkedIn’s app for Windows Phone platform has been reported to be better than Android and iOS versions. The app provides comparatively easy way to access the services of LinkedIn. It is using the advantages of Metro UI and Live Tiles on the phone to offer a completely different experience of using LinkedIn services. The app allows user to access the same resources as available on LinkedIn website or in apps for Android and iPhone. Apart from updating your connections, profile, latest LinkedIn news, group you follow and your inbox, Windows Phone based LinkedIn app offers a few extra bonuses.
The all fresh LinkedIn app has “Jobs” and “Companies” tiles- the features which are still not available in Android and iOS versions. The “Job” tiles can be used to browse suggested jobs, search for jobs, and save specific listings. But, if you want to apply for the job, you will need to go onto LinkedIn’s website. Similarly, the ‘Companies” tile allows you to search for and follow various activities of companies. You can also edit your profile in Windows Phone version of LinkedIn app. This feature is not available on LinkedIn’s other mobile apps.
By and large, LinkedIn’s Windows Phone app is far speedy, beautiful and useful than its versions for iOS and Android.
