Adobe has just released Flash 10.1 for Android platform. Although it is not installable by the users for the time being; Adobe has already shipped Flash to other device partners. So Flash will come on Symbian, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, Palm webOS, and other platforms shortly, may be 2012. Two weeks ago Adobe released the Desktop version Flash Player for 10.1.
Only one major OS is absent there i.e. iOS4. Few months back Apple Inc. commented, Flash is no more in the mobile technology arena. Now Adobe’s announcement is going to prove that Apple was wrong at that time.
According to Adobe, Flash 10.1 for mobile has been completely redesigned from the ground up; it supports multi-touch operation, smart zooming, and accelerometer-aided device rotation.
Once Apple stated that Flash would not perform well on the new generation’s powerful smartphone platforms. It is still a battle of words since Apple started throwing comment against Flash. Adobe had also thrown a few in a lot of those. Now we hope, Adobe may remain silent until the final version of Flash 10.1 for mobile is properly tested.
If Adobe delivers on these promises, will Apple reconsider its stance once again?
